D-Day is Approaching! Are You Beach Ready? It’s time to dust down your surfboard and reach for your sunglasses. D-Day is just around the corner and the theme this year is The Beach. Bring your buckets and spades, your masks and snorkels and meet us on Saturday 1st June, 2-6pm at the Playing Field, Abbotts Cottages. There will be something for everyone at D-Day – old favourites such as the coconut shy and the bouncy castle as well as some exciting new additions like the much-anticipated Space Hopper Sprint and Donut Challenge. There’ll be the annual tug of war too, the legendary Dockenfield Dog Show, and the brilliant Downstairs at Deano’s will be performing again. All sports and events are free to join in and the cost of stalls is kept to a minimum. Where else can you try a genuine Human Fruit Machine for as little as 10p a go? So whether you fancy a cup of tea and a delicious piece of home-made cake, a quiet browse at the book stall, some new plants for the garden or a succulent burger washed down with some locally brewed beer, D-Day is the only place to be. Bring your friends and family and join in the fun.
