About the South Street Trust
The South Street Trust was set up following the sale of the Farnham School of Science and Art in 1986/87. The school was established by local philanthropists James and John Knight in 1880 for the ‘instruction of children and adults in drawing, painting, modelling, designing for architecture, manufacture and decoration and for no other purpose’.
Proceeds from the sale of the school were invested and the income of around £20,000 per annum is used to provide annual grants for art-based activities.
For further information email the South Street Trust.

What can be funded
Grants are considered for individuals who are in financial hardship. A grant can be used to buy basic items of furniture or carpets, or to pay for a child’s school trip.
